Containers finally arrived!
After several painful weeks of waiting for our containers from the Port of Seattle, we have received our items in good condition. As soon as our containers arrived we cracked the doors and got to unloading. Most of the time when unloading at the site we didn't have the luxury of a forklift. So we had six guys and it took two whole days, one day for each container.
Two containers traveled all the way from our friend's shop in Latvia.
We are now working on installing the custom ceiling panels and cabinets. Cabinet installs are always like a giant real life puzzle! You have hundreds of parts and boxes and just a picture of how they are supposed to look, the rest is on the installer to figure out. I always kind of liked this process... unless you can't find a part or something breaks. We started the cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchen so that we can have the countertop areas ready for template, then we will move onto the closet and storage cabinets.
Acoustic wood panels to keep the sound out in case you have company that stays up longer, kids can go to bed without being bothered by grownups.
While all the cabinet excitement has been going on the interior, we have been working on the final water system installation. We have two wells and three storage tanks onsite with several pumps to power all of this. Our electrician has been working with our well pump guy to make these systems operate and get us fresh water in our home.
